Energy and Seismic AFfordable rEnovation solutions

The Project

The e-SAFE project, funded under the Horizon 2020 programme, aims to develop an innovative system to combine the earthquake-proof, energy-efficient and architectural renovation of existing buildings. Energy-efficient renovation plays a crucial role in the decarbonisation of the EU building stock, with the purpose of meeting long-term climate and energy related targets. Despite the many solutions already available on the market, they still struggle to meet a wide diffusion, due to a series of technical, financial and social barriers.

The e-SAFE system will ensure both compliance with energy saving and earthquake-proof safety objectives, as well as greater aesthetic and functional attractiveness, internal comfort, reduced construction time and costs, less inconvenience for occupants, accessible financing solutions and innovative business models. All these factors make the proposed system competitive in the European construction market, with the aim of meeting long-term climate and energy objectives.

With a funding of 4 million euros, e-SAFE will last 48 months and involves 12 partners from 8 European countries, coordinated by the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Catania.

Moverim activities

Within this project, MOVERIM leads the work package dedicated to communication, dissemination and training. We are building up an effective communication and dissemination strategy for a wide coverage of the project results, assuring that all e-SAFE partners participate in dissemination activities. We take care of creating the project identity and branding, managing the e-SAFE website and social network accounts and co-designing clustering activities with other local, national or EU projects and initiatives.

Moreover, MOVERIM is involved in the work package dedicated to stakeholders’ engagement, helping maintaining interaction between e-SAFE partners and external stakeholders and supporting the organization of the stakeholders’ fora activities.
